We’re located in the brand new community food center the Castro Valley Marketplace in downtown Castro Valley. We share the space with several other locally owned and independently operated specialty shops and eateries including a bakery, butcher, sushi, spices, tap room, wine shop, and more. Beyond that, the Castro Valley Marketplace will also feature a commercial kitchen, a cooking school, event spaces, co-working space and more.
Castro Valley Natural Grocery is centrally located in the Bay Area and is readily accessible from Oakland, San Leandro, Hayward, and beyond. We’re just a half-mile from I-580 and the Castro Valley BART station in the heart of downtown.

By automobile
From the North (Berkeley, Oakland, Alameda)
Option 1: Get onto I-880 South: continue on I-880 S., then take exit 31 for I-238 toward Stockton/Fresno/I-580. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for I-238/I-580/Castro Valley/Stockton. Continue onto I-238 S, then take the Castro Valley Blvd exit. Stay on Castro Valley Blvd for about 1 mile, and the Marketplace and parking lot will be on the right hand side.
Option 2: Get on 1-980 E toward CA 24 E. Merge onto I-580 East toward Hayward. Take exit 35 for Strobridge Ave. Take a left onto Strobridge Ave. It will lead you to Castro Valley Boulevard, take a right on Castro Valley Blvd. and you’ll soon approach the Marketplace and the parking lot on the right hand side.
From the East (Livermore, Dublin, Pleasanton)
Get onto I-580 W. Follow I-580 W to exit 36, onto Redwood Rd in Castro Valley. Turn right on Redwood road, Left onto Castro Valley Boulevard, and left on Wilbeam, followed by your immediate right into our parking lot.
(If coming from Pleasanton: Take 680N to I-580. Follow the rest of the directions as usual.)
From the South (Fremont, Union CIty, Hayward)
Option 1: Get on CA-238 N/Mission Blvd. Continue straight onto Foothill Blvd. Turn Right onto Castro Valley Boulevard. In about 1 mile, the destination will be on your right.
Option 2: 1-880 North towards Oakland. take exit 31A for I-238 toward Castro Valley/Stockton/I-580. Continue onto I-238 S. Take the Castro Valley Blvd exit. Continue onto Castro Valley Blvd for 1 mile until you reach your destination on the right.
